Good Neighbor Day in Geneva
September 2024
Good Neighbor Day, a celebration that took place outside the Geneva Public Library on Sept. 28, turned out to be an ideal example of the power of networking.
Library Executive Director Frank Sykes suggested the event after attending the Geneva 2030 summit, where he learned of local data showing the importance of connections between young people and their community. He and library staff collaborated with Geneva 2030 to offer an afternoon of food, crafts and activities. More than 150 families attended.
This was the inaugural event, timed to coincide with national Good Neighbor Day. We’re already planning for 2025!
