Math skills, grades 3-8
Each year, the New York State Department of Education administers two tests to students across the state. One measures grasp and abilities in English Language Arts (ELA). The other gauges math skills. The chart below shows 2022 math scores for grades 3-8, in Ontario County school districts. For context, we also provide data on the percentage of students who live in economic stress, as well as info on the percentage who speak English as a second language. The Geneva City School District ranks highest of all Ontario County districts in ESL and second highest in percent economically disadvantaged.
